They have framed the abortion issue as being one of women's rights, presuming that the unborn is not a human with a right to life. They have effectively eliminated the question of the sanctity of life out of the debate. The Political climate is such, that an attack on abortion is an attack on Women's Rights, even though nothing could be further from the truth.

How intellectually bankrupt is the notion that the sole decision maker on what is defined as, "human life" is the mother ? Either the fetus is a human or it is not a human. There must be a clear objective standard. In Texas a man murdered his 5 weeks pregnant girlfriend and was convicted of double homicide. Now, you have appreciate the glaring contradiction in how society barely raises a whimper, convicting someone of killing someone not even considered human in one context, but is not Human in the context of a "Woman's Right to Choose."

Unfortunately, State Legislatures cannot protect who it considers human beings in all contexts.
