bankiddopig, show me some evidence to prove your idea then.
Don't just say something according to your personal emotion. THat's childish.
Before the CHinese Nationalist Party escaped to Taiwan, there's no even term called "Taiwanese", only natives lived there.
And btw, 中華民國 was established by Mr. 孫文 who's also a Chinese but not Taiwanese. Remember that and DEAL WITH THAT.

raymondxiwei|, actually China's land is belong to Taiwanese, Chinese people should return their land to Taiwan and 1.3 billion Chinese need to move to ocean, if they consider themselves as a nation.

So please don't use the logic of governing Taiwan to see the problem of China - one of the largest countries with the largest population in the world. It's not hard to find a leader or a party in Taiwan, but in terms of mainland China, normal people or democracy is away not good enough to deal with the challenge of the domestic population, nor to the challenge from the developed western countries.

And by the way, the Chinese government doesn't want to control Taiwanese people. They just want their LAND because after the World War II, according to Potsdam Declaration, Cairo Declaration and the Charter of the United Nations all announce that Taiwan is part of China. Of course Taiwanese people have their right to be independent, but they are not qualified to use other country's land to found a new country.

Mainland China just wants her land back, doesn't mean she wanna control Taiwanese people.

But you can't judge mainland China by a Taiwanese point of view. Taiwan is such a small island, which is easy to govern and control. Yes, there's a lot of human rights in Taiwan so that we can see there could be 20 million people out of the 23,000,000 Taiwan population, protesting their government and expressing their thinking. If China also does this, according to the scale, there will be 1000 MILLION people out of the 1.3 BILLION population throughout the country, protesting to the government, do you think the government and the society can still function and work?????? Do you think there's anyone or any party in the world smart enough to handle this situation?

So at this stage, Communist Party can't give citizen complete human rights. However, if you are a openminded person, you can see the Chinese government is gradually giving more human rights to the citizen, as the domestic education and morality level going up.

Moreover, people are having more freedom expressing themselves online. I can criticize the government as long as i'm not making up stories.

Yes, Taiwanese people can express their thinking and the way they wanna govern themselves freely. They wanna be independent from mainland China. I've heard of these thousands of times.

I agree with that Communist Party forbids parts of the human rights in mainland China. But people do this with a reason which is, the average domestic Chinese people's education, conscience and morality haven't reached to a certain level yet. If the government complete gives citizens human rights and starts democracy, lots of real riots and Trusts companies will form their own illegal groups for their own selfish purposes, and ruin the whole Chinese civilization and society.

You said "Taiwan didn't surrender to communism", but history shows that Taiwan was dictated completely by the Nationalist Party after whom could't defeat the Communist Party in mainland China. And during the Martial Law period Taiwanese also surrenderred to the dictatorship of Nationalist Party, which had no difference to the Communist Party.

bankiddopig, i partually agree with you.

But I guess you are from Taiwan, cuz i can see some very stereotypical and old-fashioned perspectives from your comment, which is a very popular misunderstanding from most Taiwanese people.

raymondxiwei| , you made nosense at all, i am sorry that you misunderstand what i am trying to say.
